Elf on the Shelf Day 1 (with some Thanksgiving on the side!)

So last year we introduced Lucy to Elf on the Shelf. She didn't buy into the whole idea of the Elf jumping to new places and informed us that the elf was "just a toy." Even though she didn't go for the whole magical elf thing we still decided to just do it as a fun Christmas activity.

This year we started unpacking the Christmas decor and she spotted the Elf and was so excited. A friend of mine (Becca over at lifeat1521) came up with an idea for a really cool Advent calendar combined with activities. Each day her kiddos open an envelope and find a new Christmas/winter activity for each day like zoolights, cocoa party, fun crafts, all sorts of things! So I decided to combine our Elf on the Shelf with a daily activity this year.
Here's our little Elf. Notice the scroll in his arms. That is our little activity of the day.
She found it!
Here is her activity for the idea! Notice my stellar artistic abilities. I think the chain kind of looks like blood cells or something. But its the thought right?

So we made our Christmas Paper Chain and our countdown for the big day is on. So excited! Jacksen's first Christmas.

Speaking of firsts, Jacksen just had his first Thanksgiving! We had a great weekend at my parent's house with my grandparents too. Jack has been loving finger foods so he tried some of our Thanksgiving feast. Lucy has never been a huge fan of the Turkey Day menu so she mostly stuck to rolls and fruit, but she gave most of it a try.

Definitely a fun first Thanksgiving for Jacksen and excited for his first Christmas!
